GAZ Group files 28.4 bln rbl suit against Volkswagen

NIZHNY NOVGOROD, Apr 10 (PRIME) -- Russian carmaker GAZ Group has filed a 28.405 billion ruble suit against Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft to the Arbitration Court of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, as seen by PRIME in the court’s documents on Monday.

In mid-March, the court arrested Volkswagen’s assets in Russia under another suit of GAZ Group, in which it demanded the Russian unit of the German carmaker redeem 15.5 billion rubles. But on April 3, the court partially satisfied a petition of Volkswagen Group Rus and lifted the arrest from real estate, production equipment, and other movable property of the company.
